Pete Cannon – Re Introduced

He’s tipped for a big future on the UK production scene and is starting to make moves oversea’s, Pete Cannon is 25 year old beatmaker (Peter Buchanan) from Manchester and is a regular name on the Louis Den Beat Battles although most would have known him as Mr Dick they now know he is taking his music serious and is keeping his alter ego in the past.
Pete decided the time was right to re-invent and re-introduce himself, taking on management and registering with the music body PRS was just the first steps, the next is attaining some good placements with dope artists who have ambition in the industry.
With tracks impending on the forthcoming Stig Of The Dump album “The Mood Swings” LP plus an album from his own group Tactical Thinking as well as tracks recorded with some of the top UK artists you could be led to believe that things are busy for this dope producer
But it’s never enough work as he secures some placements with artists Stateside, from New York to LA and everywhere in between Pete is gradually growing in stature….. Keep yourself up to date with the latest at his blog spot

Louis Den – Live And Direct

Louis Den Beat Battle

Louis Den Beat Battles

Im sure from previous posts you’ll realise that im a fan of the Louis Den movement, not only do they churn out some of the craziest beat flip’s from the homework they dish out to producers worldwide but they also put on the illest live night every couple of months entitled Louis Den Beat Cypher (LDBC).

Since the 1st live night was announced i’ve been wanting to make the trip to Birmingham to not only support the movement but also absorb the great atmosphere which is growing among the following crowd of the den and the producers involved.  It’s great to find this kind of thing thriving and making the UK look like Hip Hop is alive and well and that homegrown producers are the one’s in the spotlight catching all the props (deservedly so).

So how does it all work????    Well mainly it’s all down to Kosyne aka Kos who keeps the momentum going…he’s the dude who is working away all day everyday, I really do admire this dude’s work ethic and for me I can see something happening within the music industry for him, from past experience people like Kos can easily carve a future out somewhere within the industry, be it Radio / Label or Marketing…..But in the meantime he has a mission with what he is building with Louis Den and Eat Good Records and I will be one of many who will continue to support the movement.

I finally made it to the latest Louis Den Beat Cypher 5 and was not to be dissapointed in what  my expectations had been built up to be….It was outstanding and all the beats and performances were amazing….but don’t take my word for it make your own assessment of the live night by heading along to LDBC #6  at The Sunflower Lounge (next to New Street station) August 13th

In Store Beat Session With Jaisu & S-Type

Jaisu and S-Type have separately been making noise on the UK underground scene through placements with artists such as Jehst and Micall Parknsun. They have now expanded their portfolio with new production work for major names such as Guilty Simpson, Tek of Smif n Wessun, Prince PO and Sha Stimuli.

On Saturday the 25th of April, Jaisu and S-Type showcased three each of their latest beats in Edinburgh’s Underground Solu’shn. Both of these heavyweight hip hop producers gave the select audience a preview of what to expect in 2009.

The highlight of the event was an exclusive airing of the S-Type produced track “Grind With Me” from Tek of Smif n Wessun’s forthcoming album ’24Kt Smoke’.
